Lee Konitz & Gil Evans: Anti-Heroes
Alto sax veteran Lee Konitz, a pioneer in improvisational jazz in the '40s and '50s, did a more than
9 minute long version of The Band's "The Moon Struck One" on this
Verve CD. The album (and its predecessor from the same gigs, Heroes) contains
duos featuring Lee Konitz on alto and soprano and pianist Gil Evans (just four months before
the latter's death).
