The Chaps: Jemima Surrender/ Ozark SmokehouseThe Chaps were a '60s garage-rock band out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. Among the pioneers of fuzz guitars and freaky song-endings, they released a string of 45s on various labels (Paula, Soft, Demand, Madella) from 1966 to 1971. A sample of The Chaps can be found on the compilation CD Sixties Rebellion, Vol. 2 (Way Back MMCD 66006/7, 1993.)A single with a cover of "Jemima Surrender" from The Band was released by The Chaps in 1969.
