Leslie West: MountainLead guitarist Leslie West's initial solo album, featuring bass/keyboard player Felix Pappalardi, who also produced it and co-wrote eight of its 11 songs, and drummer N.D. Smart II, is often referred to as the group Mountain's first album. Actually the band Mountain, with West, Pappalardi and others, that later played Woodstock and released several moderately successful singles and LPs, was named after this album. Originally released in July 1969 as Windfall 4500, Mountain was reissued on CD in 1996, as Columbia/Legacy 66439. The album has a hard-rocking version of Danko/Dylan's "This Wheel's on Fire". Tracks
