Trials & Tribulations: Trials & Tribulations
This 1970 release featuring
Jim Harvey (organ/harmonica/percussion/piano/vocals),
Gene Fuchs (percussion/drums,/vocals),
John Wilf (guitar/vocals), and
Sonny Wilf (bass/vocals), includes a cover version of Robbie Robertson's
"The Stones I Throw (Will Free All Men)" (here titled "Stones That I Throw"), a song that the The Band had released
as a single in 1965 under the name Levon and The Hawks.
The group Trials & Tribulations also cover two Bob Dylan songs, "Please, Mrs. Henry" and "Open the Door, Homer", that later
were released with Bob Dylan and The Band on The Basement Tapes.
John Wilf would later write music and lyrics for the soundtrack to the movie
End of the Line,
where Levon Helm had a leading role.
